Episode Overview
Have you ever sacrificed a part of yourself just to fit in? Belonging and authenticity have always felt like opposing forces in my life, and I want to share a deeply personal story about self-abandonment, the pressure to conform, and the long road back to self-acceptance. Inspired by the wisdom of Dr. Gabor Maté, I explore the lifelong struggle between attachment vs. authenticity and why so many of us sacrifice our true selves for validation. If you’ve ever felt torn between belonging and self-trust, this episode will help you reclaim your identity, build unshakable self-confidence, and find the courage to be unapologetically you.
“Before I said unshakable self, I talked about unshakable certainty in being so secure in who you are and what you create in the world and what your magic is that it's just undeniable."
In This Episode
(00:01) – Why belonging has always felt complicated for me
(06:45) – The apology I should have made 30 years ago
(15:32) – The war between attachment and authenticity—what Dr. Gabor Maté has to say
(24:17) – How I lost myself for validation—and the path back
(35:50) – Key takeaways & closing thoughts: The courage to reclaim myself
"The pain of consciously choosing to self-abandon is worse than self-abandoning by default or programming or conditioning, but like regardless, it fucking sucks."

I recently had a couple of encounters that were a bit triggering and felt the need to shrink myself or “water down” my personality. These encounters inspired this episode where we will explore the idea of belonging and allowing yourself to live 100% fully expressed.
In Episode 22, I openly share my experiences with self-expression to normalize these conversations, hopefully providing some food for thought as you navigate your own journey. I dive into navigating anxiety and finding feelings of safety while accessing our gifts and making our work accessible to more people without feeling like we have to water ourselves down. I share my personal experience with a cacao ceremony and some tools that can help you navigate through exploring the tension between belonging and self-expression. Lastly, I want to emphasize the importance of inner child work and nurturing our relationships with our younger selves, especially when we find ourselves repeating old patterns.
How do you live your life fully expressed? What are the things you do to make a difference in those moments of tension or feeling watered down? Share it with me on the DMs or leave this episode a review!

Sunday Jan 29, 2023
Have you ever felt like you’ve been on a journey, and you thought you had healed, and the next thing you know, you are repeating the lessons?
This happened to me this week, and oh boy, was it a week! Freya, my beautiful cat, had a medical emergency that sent me into a traumatic experience that I thought I’d healed back in 2011. The lessons I learned this week helped me trust in myself, my guides, and the support from people around me. It also helped me discover what hope truly is, and it is such a powerful lesson.
Join me in this episode and let me know when the last time you fell into a healing spiral was. I would love to know and support you, too!
“When the lesson is deeply rooted, our tendency to avoid or just kind of store it, put it away, ignore those negative, hard, challenging feelings, those lessons are going to continue to come back for us.”
This episode explores:
❤️🔥 What a Healing Spiral is

Sunday Oct 30, 2022
Have you ever been in a situation where you feel guilty for not being able to do more, and you get blamed or feel at fault for not changing the situation? Or you feel like it’s your birthright… or even your OBLIGATION to make everything okay?
If you are nodding your head, then I know this episode will resonate with you. In this episode, I will share the feelings of over-responsibility and how it has affected my personal life and my business. I talk about how over-responsibility can show up in your life and my invitation for you if you feel like you are in this situation.
You need to break free from over-responsibility and live your best life. And it can start now.
